Fully networked video system adds visibility and safety

January 7, 2014: Dallas, TX—BearCom, a nationwide provider of wireless communications equipment and solutions, today announced it played a vital behind-the-scenes role enhancing public safety when nearly 5,000 citizens and dignitaries gathered in downtown Dallas on Friday, November 22 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The company formed a strong partnership with the Dallas PD back in 2006 when BearCom was selected to deliver a comprehensive wireless video surveillance system covering much of downtown Dallas. In addition, BearCom staff was entrusted to provide on-site monitoring and technical support services during the event. “When security planning and preparations were initiated last summer, BearCom was included from the beginning as an equal partner,” said Mike Butler, BearCom’s Engineering Program Manager. “It was impressive how thorough and conscientious city officials were to make sure every detail was considered and covered.
