Motorola Solutions APX Series two-way radios operate on the Motorola ASTRO 25 system infrastructure to meet demanding APCO Project 25 (P25) digital voice and data communication standards. The APX 8500 all-band mobile radio enables first responders to use a single mobile radio to exchange critical voice and data communications seamlessly with multiple agencies and jurisdictions operating on different radio bands. The APX 8500 combines unlimited interoperability, secure Wi-Fi connectivity, text messaging, and purpose-built design which enables ease of installation and removal. In addition, Wi-Fi enables instant over-the-air configuration of new codeplugs, firmware, and software updates. Integrates with select modems via micro USB interface to create in-field communication and data hubs leveraging LTE networks. Mission-critical geofencing automatically puts radios into the same Talk Group within an agency-defined virtual barrier. Use the APX 8500 in mobile vehicles (including motorcycles) and as a remote base station control center.
