March 3, 2023 (Garland, Texas) BearCom, a leading systems integrator delivering last-mile private LTE and 5G networks for communities, tribal authorities, school districts and enterprises, announces its participation in the Tribal Broadband Summit 2023, hosted by NTTA and Gila River Telecommunications Inc.

The event, which takes place March 20 – 22 in Chandler, Arizona, is designed to help tribes identify funding sources and build/maintain/monetize a network and plan for future broadband.

BearCom CTO Mike Owen will contribute expertise, insight and experience in CBRS-enabled private LTE networks as an option tribal leaders should consider in place of FWA (fixed wireless access) and optical fiber deployments.

Mike will join panel on Tuesday, March 21 with moderator Kevin Hamer, General Manager, Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Tribal Broadband Consortium, and speakers from Tim Jaeger from Tarana Wireless and Ted Cox of Pierson Wireless.

“With Private LTE, tribal leaders can essentially blanket a community or service area with a wireless network that enables them to offer more services than a series of fixed wireless shots into individual buildings or homes,” said Mr. Owen.

“We see private LTE as providing more benefits for the investment: last mile connectivity plus mobility, which leads to more services and functionality than a fixed network would provide. We look forward to engaging with tribal leaders at the conference and discussing what we at BearCom have learned with private LTE networks,” he continued.
