But do not let the small size of this radio fool you, because the BC-Mini operates in open areas without obstructions up to 5 miles (8 km). In residential areas (near buildings) this radio can still provide a connection at up to 1.5 miles (2.4 km). Even indoors where steel and/or concrete reinforced buildings can deter signal strength, the BC-Mini performs with up to 225,000 square feet (20,900 sq.m) coverage in high-rise buildings or up to 17 floors.
