January 17, 2017, Dallas, TX – The BearCom Group has announced that it has been selected to provide an extensive wireless two-way radio communications solution for the upcominwhitehouse smg inauguration event. The Presidential Inauguration Committee contracted BearCom for the network, which includes more than 1,700 two-way radios and smartphones with push-to-tak (PTT) apps. The Committee is renting the wireless communications system for 11 days to span across seven locations and keep personnel in hotels, transportation, operations, medical, and security staff engaged and connected.

Communication Equipment for the Presidential Inauguration

To communicate across multiple sites over a wide area, BearCom is planning to deploy a temporary MOTOTRBO Linked Capacity Plus system from Motorola Solutions.  The system will connect to a MOTOTRBO Connect Plus network, which will be used primarily for transportation. Bus and limousine drivers will use the Connect Plus network; and legal, administration, security, and other groups will use the Linked Capacity Plus system. The system will begin to be set up January 11 and will be taken down January 21. The primary coverage area is on the mall from the Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial and to the White House, following the parade route. “The majority of sites are in hotel properties where they are having various balls, parties and functions,” said Brent Bisnar, BearCom executive vice president. “BearCom is proud to be a partner in this historic event.
