BearCom is getting even bigger in Florida. Today, the company announced it has acquired an Orlando-area business that for decades has served a range of customers with two-way rentals. In a news release, BearCom Executive Vice President Brent Bisnar, who directs our rental operations, said, "In A&R Radio Rentals, we have acquired a strong local and regional provider that is servicing some clients on a nationwide basis." A&R is located in Winter Garden, Florida, and it focuses on two-way radio rentals to large conventions, sporting events, tour groups, transportation companies, and production companies working on films, television shows, and commercials. Its radio inventory consists entirely of products from Motorola Solutions, which is BearCom's largest supplier. Customers Can Expect Seamless Transition "Their business is complementary to ours," Bisnar said in making the announcement. "The timing was right for them, and it was a nice fit for us." Bisnar said A&R Founder Alice Lombardi will continue to manage her customers, and they can expect a seamless transition to BearCom. BearCom has a branch in Orlando and serves South Florida from a location in Fort Lauderdale. Those locations are part of a branch network that makes BearCom the only nationwide dealer and integrator of wireless communications equipment. "We are the only supplier with nationwide points of presence," Bisnar said. "That gives us the ability to service customers wherever they happen to be." Two-way radio rentals have long been a focus for BearCom, because there are scenarios in which renting equipment can be a better option than purchasing it. Radio Rentals Give Users Access to the Latest Technology "Many of our customers have a need to use equipment for a short term—anything from a one-day event or a week-long convention to an industrial project lasting months. Often, it's more cost effective for them to rent rather than buy quality equipment that meets their needs," said Bisnar. "Other customers have longer-term needs but may not have the capital resources available to make the acquisition, so an affordable monthly rental price that can be charged as an expense is more attractive to them." "And with rentals, you always get the latest technology," Bisnar added. "As quickly as technology changes these days, that's an important consideration."
